Bandung Bliss: Luxe 2BR Braga City Walk Oasis Awaits! - A Messy, Honest Review

Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I'm about to spill the tea on Bandung Bliss: Luxe 2BR Braga City Walk Oasis Awaits! And let me tell you, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Well, maybe some sunshine… but definitely not all rainbows. This review is going to be messy, honest, and dripping with my utterly subjective experience.

Accessibility - The Ups and Downs

Okay, let's start with the nitty-gritty. Accessibility. Now, I don't personally need wheelchair access, but I always pay attention to these things. And from what I could gather, the hotel seems to have some facilities. There's an elevator, which is a huge plus. But the devil is in the details, right? Are the hallways wide enough? Are the bathrooms really accessible? I couldn't personally verify, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

On-site accessible restaurants / lounges - I didn't see any blatant ones advertised, so, again, need more investigation.

Internet - The Curse of the Wi-Fi Gods

Let’s be real, internet in hotels is either a blessing or a curse. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! Hallelujah! You know, I need to be connected. Work never sleeps, you know?! And it's advertised with Internet, Internet [LAN], Internet services. But here’s the snag: my attempts at watching a high-def movie on my laptop? Buffering. Endless buffering. Then a complete disconnect. So yeah, the promise is there, but the follow-through? Not always stellar. I spent a good hour cursing the Wi-Fi gods and trying to troubleshoot. Eventually, I gave up and just…read. It was kinda nice, actually.

"Things to Do" - A Whirlwind of Options…Maybe Too Many?

Bandung Bliss throws a ton of options at you. Things to do, ways to relax: They've got spas! A Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, Sauna, Massage, Pool with view, even a Foot bath! I was picturing myself, floating in a pool, drinking a fancy cocktail…

I managed the swimming pool [outdoor] thing (it was gorgeous, I must admit!). And I attempted the Fitness center, Gym/fitness… which was, shall we say, "modestly equipped". I’m used to my fancy gym back home, so, let’s just say I did a light jog.

Cleanliness and Safety - Feeling Safe…?

This is where things get interesting. They're really pushing the safety thing. Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hand sanitizer everywhere, hand sanitizer! Rooms sanitized between stays. They're definitely trying. But, as someone who’s been traveling a lot, I’m cynical by nature. I saw the cleaning crew… but did they really get everywhere? Did they do it thoroughly? You know, you start to question everything. And the Staff trained in safety protocol? I guess. Did I see it in action? Um…

Dining, Drinking, and Snacking - The Food Gauntlet

The food situation is… intense. Seriously like a buffet of options here. A la carte in restaurant, Alternative meal arrangement, Asian breakfast, Asian cuisine in restaurant, Bar, Bottle of water, Breakfast [buffet], Breakfast service, Buffet in restaurant, Coffee/tea in restaurant, Coffee shop, Desserts in restaurant, Happy hour, International cuisine in restaurant, Poolside bar, Restaurants, Room service [24-hour], Salad in restaurant, Snack bar, Soup in restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant, Western breakfast, Western cuisine in restaurant. Holy smokes!

The breakfast [buffet], was… fine. Perfectly fine. The coffee was weak, but the pastries were surprisingly delicious. I might have, ahem, grabbed a few extra croissants for later. Don’t judge me. And the Poolside bar was a lifesaver. Those cocktails… ah, they were a different story and that's what makes a vacation.

Services and Conveniences - The Good, The Bad, and the Unnecessary

Okay, so the usual suspects are there: Air conditioning in public area, Concierge, Daily housekeeping, Doorman, Dry cleaning, Elevator, Ironing service, Laundry service, Luggage storage, Safety deposit boxes, Taxi service. The Air conditioning in public area was a godsend in the Bandung heat. The Concierge was helpful, but sometimes a little… overly enthusiastic? Like, "YES, I CAN ARRANGE A RIDE TO THE MOON FOR YOU!" I just wanted a taxi, dude.

For the kids

I didn't bring any kids. But I saw signs pointing at a Babysitting service if you needed it.

Available in all rooms

The amenities are here. Air conditioning, Alarm clock, Bathrobes, Bathroom phone, Bathtub, Blackout curtains, Carpeting, Closet, Coffee/tea maker, Complimentary tea, Daily housekeeping, Desk, Extra long bed, Free bottled water, Hair dryer, High floor, In-room safe box, Interconnecting room(s) available, Internet access – LAN, Internet access – wireless, Ironing facilities, Laptop workspace, Linens, Mini bar, Mirror, Non-smoking, On-demand movies, Private bathroom, Reading light, Refrigerator, Safety/security feature, Satellite/cable channels, Scale, Seating area, Separate shower/bathtub, Shower, Slippers, Smoke detector, Socket near the bed, Sofa, Soundproofing, Telephone, Toiletries, Towels, Umbrella, Visual alarm, Wake-up service, Wi-Fi [free], Window that opens.

Rooms and Stuff…

The 2BR part is true. The space was nice. The balcony had a great view - but the lack of a decent sound system in a place like that is a glaring hole in the entertainment. Non-smoking rooms are available.

Getting Around

They offer Airport transfer, Car park [free of charge], Car park [on-site], Taxi service, Valet parking. All good on the convenience front.

The Imperfections and Emotional Rollercoaster Ride

Let's be real, no place is perfect. I saw a minor stain on the carpet, a slight flickering in the bathroom light. Just the kind of quirks that remind you you’re, like, a human. I would've felt weirdly disappointed if everything was perfect!

My overall experience was good. I found the hotel clean the food available was decent and the staff was for the most part very helpful. But! There were flaws. The internet was spotty. The gym was lackluster. But, that’s life, right? Even in a "Luxe Oasis".

Deluxe & Comfy 2BR at Braga City Walk By Travelio Bandung Indonesia

Okay, buckle up buttercups, because this isn't your grandma's travel itinerary. This is… my travel itinerary. And trust me, it’s going to be a wild ride. We’re talking Bandung, Indonesia, baby! Specifically, the Deluxe & Comfy 2BR at Braga City Walk By Travelio. Let's see what we're dealing with, shall we?

Day 1: Arrival and the Cult of the Bandung Traffic Gods

  • Morning (and by morning, I mean, like, noon. Jet lag. Don’t judge): Arrive at Husein Sastranegara International Airport (BDO). Ugh, airports. The soul-sucking, people-watching, overpriced-coffee-dispensing purgatories of the modern age. But hey, at least I'm here. Grab a Bluebird taxi (apparently, the only sane option here, or so the internet decrees) to the Braga City Walk apartment. Pray to the Bandung traffic gods they are kind.
    • Anecdote: Remember that time I thought I was so clever and used Google Maps for a taxi in Mexico City? NEVER AGAIN. Learned my lesson. Bluebird or bust.
    • Emotional Reaction: Anticipation! Slight terror. The joy and dread of seeing a new country. I hope the AC works.
  • Afternoon: Unpack. Ogle the "Deluxe & Comfy" digs. Is it really deluxe? Is comfy just a marketing ploy? I’ll let you know. Probably nap.
    • Quirky Observation: I'm pretty sure the pillows are sentient. They're judging me.
  • Late Afternoon/Early Evening: Venture out for a food reconnaissance mission. Gotta find some nasi goreng (fried rice) and sate (satay). Wander down Braga Street (apparently the "it" place). Absorb the atmosphere. Get completely lost.
    • Imperfection: Probably stumble around looking like a lost tourist. Accept it. Embrace it. I'm sure the locals will find me amusing.
    • Emotional Reaction: Overwhelmed! Excited! Hungry! The smells… oh, the smells! I can practically taste the adventure.
  • Evening: Dinner (hopefully successful). Some wandering around Braga Street at night. Maybe some live music (if I can find it). Definitely ice cream. Because, why not?
    • Rambles: I really hope I don't get food poisoning. My stomach is about as adventurous as I am, which means we're both going to be very unhappy if I eat something weird. Oh, and I need to figure out the local currency. This could be a disaster.
    • Opinionated Language: Braga Street better be as charming as the travel blogs promised. If it’s just a bunch of chain stores, I’m going to riot… politely, of course.

Day 2: Kawah Putih and the Mountain of Disappointment (Maybe, Hopefully Not)

  • Morning: Wake up. Drink ALL the coffee. Today, we're going to Kawah Putih, the famous white crater lake. Hire a car and driver (because I'm too chicken to drive in Bandung traffic). Buckle up, buttercup!
    • Rambles: I feel like I should be practicing some Indonesian phrases. "Terima kasih" (thank you) is probably the best I've got. "Help, I need a toilet" might also be useful. Hopefully, I won't need that one.
    • Emotional Reaction: Anxiety. The pictures look amazing, but what if it's a total tourist trap? And what if it rains? And what if I get altitude sickness?
  • Afternoon: Kawah Putih – hopefully gazing at the turquoise water! Explore the area, take a million photos, and maybe try not to fall into the lake (seriously, though).
    • Doubling Down on Experience: Let's be honest, the whole reason I came to Bandung was to see this lake. All the other stuff is just filler. If Kawah Putih disappoints, I'm going to be devastated.
    • Imperfection: I’m going to haggle with the souvenir vendors. Poorly. I’ll probably end up overpaying and walking away with a t-shirt that says "I heart Bandung" in Comic Sans.
  • Late Afternoon: Head back to the apartment. Rest and recover. Reflect on the majesty (hopefully) of Kawah Putih.
  • Evening: Dinner at a local warung (small eatery). Try something new and exciting (or, you know, play it safe and order another nasi goreng).
    • Opinionated Language: I’m going to make a conscious effort to engage with the locals. I want to learn something about them, their culture, and their lives. And maybe find out the secret to the perfect sambal (chili sauce).

Day 3: Art Deco, Factory Outlets, and a Plea to the Gods of Shopping

  • Morning: Explore Bandung’s Art Deco heritage. It's supposed to be beautiful! Visit a few key buildings and stroll through the city.
    • Quirky Observation: I hope my camera battery lasts! I need to post all this in Instagram, so everyone knows i'm living the great life!
  • Afternoon: Factory outlet shopping. Bandung is famous for it. Now, I'm not much for shopping but I’m going to test the waters.
    • Rambles: So many options… and I think, I might need more space. I will have to return to the apartment and then, go shopping for bigger suitcase
  • Evening: Fancy restaurant near the apartment. Perhaps just enjoy some coffee and planning for my next adventure?
    • Emotional Reaction: The mix of anxiety and excitement for the next day.

Day 4: The Long Road Home, and the Lingering Taste of Adventure

  • Morning: A final, leisurely breakfast. One last look at the apartment. Pack. Sigh.
    • Messier Structure: Okay, let's be real. This is all going to be a blur. There will be luggage and trying to decide what to bring and leaving and hopefully get to the airport on time.
  • Afternoon: Taxi to the airport. Say goodbye to Bandung.
    • Emotional Reaction: Sadness. I’m not ready to go. But also… the siren song of my own bed.
  • Evening: Fly home. Relive the trip in my head. Start planning the next one. (Probably to escape the boredom of my life.)
    • Opinionated Language: Bandung, you were a whirlwind. I'm not sure I'm the better but I am ready to do some crazy things.

And that, my friends, is the plan. Wish me luck. And pray for my stomach.

Bandung Bliss: Luxe 2BR Braga City Walk Oasis Awaits! - The Messy Truth FAQ

Okay, spill the tea. Is this place *really* as amazing as it sounds? “Luxe Oasis” makes me nervous... it's usually code for "overpriced and disappointing."

Alright, alright, hold your horses! "Luxe Oasis" is a bit of a stretch, let's be honest. It's definitely NOT a dive. It's a *nice* apartment, beautifully decorated (mostly… more on that later), in a fantastic location. The "luxe" part might be a touch overblown by the marketing, but the location? Braga City Walk? Spot on. You're practically *in* the action. I mean, the smell of fresh coffee from the cafe downstairs already beat me up... I was like "YES, Bandung!"

But "oasis"? Well, that depends on your definition of oasis. It's not a secluded desert retreat. It's a bustling city-center apartment. Expect occasional street noise, the distant (and sometimes not-so-distant) call to prayer, and the joyful chaos of Bandung life. So, maybe less "oasis" and more "a stylish launchpad for urban exploration.” Think of it as your luxurious crashpad, not some remote zen retreat. And definitely don't expect a Jacuzzi, despite the implied luxury...though you might want one after the traffic!

Braga City Walk - sounds cool. What's *actually* around there? And is it safe? I'm paranoid about getting lost and mugged.

Braga City Walk is *amazing*. It's the real deal. Think charming European architecture meets vibrant Indonesian street life. You've got cafes (SO MANY cafes!), restaurants, art galleries, and shops practically on your doorstep. Seriously, within a five-minute walk, you're golden. From traditional Indonesian food to Western-style dining, you are covered.

Safety? Generally, it's pretty safe. Bandung, in general, is relatively chill. I walked around late at night (don't tell my mother!) and felt fine. Of course, use common sense. Don't flash wads of cash (duh!), be aware of your surroundings, and stick to well-lit areas. During the day, you'll be fine. It's a touristy area, so there are always people around. You also get the blessing of GoJek and Grab rides -- the safest, cheapest, and easiest way to navigate Bandung, trust me!

The only time it felt a little sketchy was… okay, admit it, I’m a klutz. I tripped over a loose paving stone because I was too busy staring at a really pretty painting, and nearly face-planted. *That* was embarrassing. Moral of the story: watch your step! And maybe bring a band-aid. Always.

The apartment itself – what's the deal? Is it actually a 2-bedroom? And does it have a decent view?

Yes! It *is* a proper 2-bedroom apartment. Spacey enough for a group of friends or a family. The rooms are decently sized, and the beds are comfy (important!). The master bedroom is the winner, bigger, and generally more stylish. The second room is a bit… well, it's fine. A bit less "luxe," maybe. But again, it definitely does the job.

The view? Well, it's not panoramic mountain vistas. You're in the city, remember? The view from the balcony is… interesting. You see the buildings across the street, and some activity from the Braga street. It' perfect for people watching, really, and that's entertainment right there. You can hear the city life, but it makes the location all the more exciting.

And let me tell you, the balcony is the perfect size for a morning coffee or a late-night drink – absolute bliss. It's a great spot to soak in the atmosphere. Just don’t leave your laundry out there overnight, the Bandung weather can be unpredictable.

Okay, be honest. What are the downsides? What will I *hate*?

Alright, buckle up. Here's the unvarnished truth. First, the traffic. Bandung traffic is… a beast. Especially around Braga during peak hours. Getting anywhere can take longer than you expect. Don't be surprised if a 10-minute drive turns into a 30-minute crawl. Factor that into your plans. Leave earlier than you think you need to. And invest in a good audiobook or some killer playlists on Spotify!

Second, the elevator. It's slow. Very slow. And it's a prime opportunity to practice your patience. I swear, sometimes I felt like I aged a year waiting for that thing. And on a few occasions, it was out of service, which meant climbing the stairs. *Not* ideal after a long day of exploring. Be prepared for it.

Also, the "fully equipped kitchen" isn't exactly a Michelin-star chef's dream. It's functional, but don't expect a state-of-the-art kitchen. It is sufficient for basic cooking, so if you are looking to cook a feast, you might want to reconsider.

And finally, the Wi-Fi sometimes flickered. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but it could be frustrating if you're trying to work or stream movies. It worked most of the time. It's just a reminder that perfection is a myth.

What about cleanliness? Is it spotless? I'm kind of a germaphobe…

It's clean, generally speaking. It's definitely not gross. I'm somewhat particular myself, and I didn't feel the need to scrub everything down with bleach. The bathrooms were clean, the bedsheets felt fresh, and the floors were vacuumed. They are trying their best!

However, it's not a sterile, clinical environment. This is someone's apartment, not a hotel, and there are signs of life. A few minor imperfections here and there, like a scuff mark on a wall or a slightly dusty corner, are normal. Remember that this is a lived-in space. Nothing that will ruin your trip though.

The best advice? Pack some disinfectant wipes if you're super fussy. But honestly, I think you'll be fine. Just relax and embrace the adventure!

I'm a foodie. Is the location good for eating? Any recommendations?

Oh. My. God. YES. The food scene around Braga is *amazing*. You are in for a treat. Seriously, I gained at least a couple of kilos during my stay. It's a food paradise!

First off, the street food! You *have* to try the local snacks. Wander down Braga Street, and you'll be overwhelmed with delicious smells and options. I highly recommend *Batagor*, a fried tofu and fish dumpling with peanut sauce. Also, *Sate Maranggi*, this is a must! Deliciously grilled skewers! And the *Es Cendol*... sweet, cold, and glorious.

Then there are the restaurants. ThereBudget Travel Destination
